Economy
Lowering prescription, medical, daycare, and utility costs. This includes supporting the Prescription Drug Affordability Board, improving mental health coverage, promoting state policy to lower childcare providers and payees costs, and holding utilities accountable and protecting the ratepayer from the cost and impact of data centers or other infrastructure upgrades.
Support federal workers, contractors, and small businesses impacted by job cuts and layoffs. This includes continuing the unemployment insurance program, keeping the Federal Shutdown Loan Program, workforce training, and job recruitment.
Increase consumer protections, holding corporations accountable, and retaining Maryland owned and operated businesses.
Education
Protect funding for the Blueprint for Maryland, which provides direct aid to our students, increased career and technical paths, and community support services for students.
Advocate for adequate compensation to recruit and retain quality teachers and staff for our children.
Improve capital funding for our schools that reduces overcrowding, provides a quality learning environment, and equitable facilities for every student in our community. This includes classroom additions, new schools, and equitable facilities such as High School field houses.
Public Safety
Ensure adequate staffing and increase support for first responders to ensure sufficient community response times and coverage.
Increase public safety efficiency and provide equipment and technology to better serve and protect our community.
Supported increased mental health services for our community to help reduce crime and make our communities safer.
Environment
Support innovative technology and practices to reduce or lower microplastics in the Chesapeake Bay and tributaries.
Support renewable and sustainable energy to improve our environment, public health, increase energy independence, and resource preservation.
Continue to support efforts for increased recycling in Maryland, including organic recycling.
Specific Local Issues
Build the Odenton Parking Garage to increase parking capacity, elevate public transportation ridership, and improve economic growth at the Odenton Town Center.
Continue to advocate for sidewalks and pedestrian access in Odenton and surrounding communities to improve multimodal access.
Improve safety, reduce bottlenecks, increase multimodal access, and improve drainage on Maryland Route 3, Interstate 97, Maryland Route 32, and Maryland Route 175. This includes adding a traffic light at the intersection of Maryland 175 and Gambrills Road.
